(5) If governor lever (5) is damaged or seal (12) is leaking, remove pin (4), governor
lever (5), and thrust plate (6) from governor shaft.
(6) Remove springs (9 and 10) from regulator bracket (3).
(7) If necessary, remove seal (12) from cylinder block.

Inspection.
(1) Inspect components for cracks, corrosion and other damage.
(2) Inspect springs for deformation.
(3) Replace damaged parts.
c.
Repair. Replace spring(s) if damaged or missing.
d.
Installation.
(1) If removed, press new seal (12, Figure 4-52) into cylinder block.
