aw. Connect exhaust pipe to turbocharger oulet and install damp(1).
ax. Install overflow bottle assembly (5, FIGURE 3-4) on right side of engine with bolts (3) and Iockwashers (4).
ay. Connect hose (2) on overflow bottle assembly (5) with clamp (1).
az. Position filler hose and panel assembly (5, FIGURE 3-2) in generator set. Connect filler hose and panel assem-
My (5) to radiator (2) and tighten damp (1).
ba. Connect overflow hose (4) to filler hose and panel assembly (5) and tighten damp (3).
bb. Install new ties (6) on radiator supports (7) to secure overflow hose (4).
bc. Install top housing panel (7, FIGURE 3-2) with bolts (1) and (4), Iockwashers (2) and (5), and washers (3)
and (6).
bd. Service coolant system, paragraph 2-1-2-2.
be. Service lubrication system, paragraph 2-1-2-4.
bf. Install control box assembly, paragraph 2-19-4.
bg. Connect negative battery cable and close battery access door.
bh. Close all access doors.
bi. Start generator set, check for leaks and proper operation.
bj. Shut down generator set and service fluid levels as necessary.
3-7-3 REPACEMENT
a.
Remove of old engine assembly from generator set, paragraph 3-7-1.
b. Remove the following from new engine and return with old engine:
(1)
Cooling fan.
(2)
Fan spacer.
(3)
Fan belt.
c.
Disconnect throttle lever cable (1, FIGURE 3-1 6) from fuel injection pump of old engine.
d.
Remove throttle lever cable bracket (2), with cable (1) attached, from old engine and install on new engine.
e. Connect throttle lever cable (1) to fuel injection pump lever of new engine.
f.
Remove the following from old engine and install on new engine:
(1)
Oil sample valve and low oil pressure switch assembly (3, FIGURE 3-16).
(2)
Alternator guard (1, FIGURE 3-17). Use hardware from old engine.
(3)
Fuel filter drain valve assembly (2, FIGURE 3-17).
(4)
Oil drain line elbow (7, FIGURE 2-31) with hose (4) attached.
