WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Skin/eye
protection required. Avoid repeated/prolonged contact. Good general ventilation is nor-
mally adequate.
WARNING
Use low pressure air, 15 psi maximum. Wear protective glasses when using compressed
air. Failure to follow this warning could result in severe personal injury.

Clean oil pressure sender with dry, filtered compressed air and wipe with a cleaning cloth (Item 8, Appendix C)
lightly moistened with dry cleaning solvent (Item 20, Appendix C).

Inspect oil pressure sender for cracked casing, stripped or damaged threads, corrosion, or other visible damage.

If no repair is needed, install oil pressure sender, paragraph 2-107-4.
2-107-4 Installation.

Screw oil pressure sender (2, FIGURE 2-30) into engine block
b.
Conned electrical lead and dose left side engine access doors.
c.
Connect negative battery cable and dose battery access door.

Generator set exhaust manifold gets extremely hot. Use care when performing test on
coolant temperature sender. Failure to observe this warning could result in severe burns.
Testing.
Shut down generator set.
Open battery access door and disconnect negative battery cable.
Open left side engine access doors.
Disconnect electrical lead from coolant temperature sender (4, FlGURE 2-30).
Set multimeter for ohms and connect positive lead to temperature sander terminal and negative lead to case.
Multimeter indication shall be greater than 300 ohms.
Connect negative battery cable and start generator set.
Allow the engine to operate while observing multimeter.
Ohms indication should decrease as temperature rises.
Shut down generator set and disconnect negative battery cable.
