d. Remove bolts (1, FIGURE 2-24), washers (2), nuts (3), end Iockwashers (4) securing fans guards (5) and (6).
e.
Remove bolts (7), Iockwashers (8), washers (9), and brackets (10) and (11 ) from radiator shroud.
f.
Remove bolt (12), Iockwasher (13), and bracket (14) from engine head.
g.
Remove nut (15), Iockwasher (16), washer (17), and bracket (18) from injection pump mount.
h.
Remove nut (19), Iockwasher (20), bolt (21), and bracket (22) from alternator mount.

Installation.
a.
Install bolts (7, FIGURE 2-24), Iockwashers (8), and washers (9) securing brackets (10) and (11) to radiator
shroud.
b. Install bracket (14) to engine head with bolt (12) and Iockwasher (13).
c. Install bracket (18) to injection pump mount with nut (15), Iockwasher (16) and washer (17).
d. Install bracket (22) to alternator mount with bolt (21), Iockwasher (20), and nut (19).
NOTE
If damaged or if replacing fan guards (5 and 6), install protective edging (23), cut to
fit.
e.
Install bolts (1), washers (2), nuts (3), and Iockwashers (4) securing fan guards (5) and (6).
f.
Close both side engine access doors.
g. Connect negative battery cable and close battery access door.

UPPER COOLANT HOSE.
2-79-1 Removal.
a.
Shut down generator set.
b. Open battery access door and disconnect negative battery cable.
c. Open engine access doors.
WARNING
Coolant can get very hot. Allow system to cool down before performing maintenance.
Failure to follow these instructions could result in severe burns and injuries.
WARNING
Always remove radiator cap slowly to permit pressure to escape. Failure to observe this
warning could result in severe injury.
d. SIowly remove radiator cap (1, FIGURE 2-23).
e. Remove fan guards, paragraph 2-78-2.
