ENGINE REPLACEMENT.

Remove engine and generator assembly from generator set, paragraph 3-6-1.
Remove generator from engine; MEP-802A, paragraph 4-11-1; MEP812A, paragraph 4-12-1.
Drill existing lower alternator mounting hole on new engine to 0.510 in. (12.9 mm)
Drill a 0.21 in. (5.33 mm) hole in top web of oil filler cap of new engine.
Remove the following from the old engine and install on new engine:

Fan belt, paragraph 2-75.
Cooling fan, paragraph 2-74.
Battery charging alternator, paragraph 2-1 4. Use hardware and supporl bracket from old engine.
Fuel solenoid with oil cap chain, paragraph 2-95. Use hardware from old engine.
Magnetic pickup, paragraph 2-94.
Oil drain hose elbow (7, Figure 2-23) and fitting (8).
Coolant high temperature switch, paragraph 2-93.
Coolant temperature sender, paragraph 2-92.
Engine block coolant drain valve (36, Figure 2-20) and bushing (37).
Engine oil pressure line elbow (24, Figure 2-25).
Starter mounting bolts.
Connect chain from fuel solenoid bracket to oil filler cap at hole drilled in step d.
Install generator on engine; MEP802A, paragraph 4-11-4; MEP812A, paragraph 4-12-6.
Install engine and generator assembly in generator set, paragraph 3-6-2.
Check and adjust fan belt as necessary, paragraph 2-75-4.
Check and adjust magnetic pickup as necessary, paragraph 2-94-4.
Check and adjust frequency droop as necessary, paragraph 4-7.
Start generator set, check for leaks, and proper operation.
