Section II. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
1-10.
Description. Power Plant AN/MIJQ-12A is made up of two PU-650B/G power units. Each power unit is, in turn,
made up of one Tactical Utility Generator Set, DOD Model MEP-006A mounted on a modified M200A1 trailer. These
generator sets are liquid-cooled, diesel engine-driven units, each with a load capacity of 60KW at 60 Hz. The trailers are
two-wheeled units with dual tires mounted. Each trailer has a 2 1/2 ton carrying capacity. The modifications to the basic
trailers provide stowage for the accessories and all equipment necessary for mobile operation as well as providing a work
platform for the operator and maintenance personnel. Output from the power plant is applied to the system or equipment
being powered through a switch box. The AN/MJQ-12A is supplied with either a 4-wire or a 5-wire configuration switch
box. Figures 1-1 and 1-2 illustrate the power plant.
