GENERATOR SET, PU-631/G, FSN 6115-059-5172
Section I. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
20-1. Description
a. General. The trailer mounted generator set, PU-
631/G, consists of two 5 kw, Model SF 5.0 military
design generators mounted on a modified 1 1/2-ton, 2-
wheel cargo trailer, Model M-103-A3, (figures 20-1 and
20-2). Brackets, racks, holders, and platforms are
provided for transporting and installing communications
equipment. Table 20-1 lists components of the PU631/G
generator set.
b. Generators. Each Model SF 5.0, 5 kw generator
is powered by a directly-coupled, 2-cylinder, 10 hp,
military standard model 2A042-1 gasoline engine. For
description,
operation,
and
maintenance
of
the
generators, refer to TM 5-6115-332-14. A power
transfer switch is provided for connecting the generators
to a common load.
c. Engines. For description, operation, and

refer to TM 5-2805-258-14.
d. Trailers. For description and maintenance of the
trailer chassis, refer to TM 9-2330-213-14.
e. Lubrication. For lubrication instructions for the
