Install Rope Heater to TB-7, HR1 inside output box and electrical leads in accordance with wiring diagram,
Figure 5-3. Secure leads (6 and 7), Figure 5-10, with straps contained in kit.

Install thermostat assembly (5), Figure 5-10, to TB-7 pins 8 and 9.

Add coolant to proper level.

Connect positive and negative battery cables.

Start and run engine until the radiator thermostat has opened.

Start the heater coolant pump only by putting a positive jumper to pin A6 of the control unit (A2). This will start the
coolant pump only.

If necessary, top off coolant.

Disconnect positive jumper from pin A6 of the A2.
52.
Double check all hose connections for leaks.

With engine running, start heater. Check the heater code light (5), Figure 5-9, per the heater function codes plate (2),
for heater operation.
54.
Turn off the engine and allow heater to run until the coolant reaches temperature, at which time the heater will cycle
to low heat.
55.
Turn heater off.
NOTE
The water pump and combustion air blower will continue to run for approximately 3 minutes.

Locate identification plate (2), Figure 5-9, below existing plates on left side of front housing. Match and drill holes
in housing and install four rivets contained in kit. Refer to TM 9-6115-645-24.
