Fuel Filter Bleed Screws
Bleed air from the generator set fuel system.

Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick
Check and add lubrication oil to diesel engine (one on each side of
engine).

START-PREHEAT/
START-PREHEAT - Selected and held, energizes 24-VDC starting circuit
PREHEAT/OFF/
and air intake heaters when 24 VDC power is connected to NATO slave
START Rotary Switch
receptacle. When released, spring loaded switch returns to OFF position.
PREHEAT - Selected and held, energizes air intake heaters mounted
between air cleaner and diesel engine air intake manifold when 24 VDC
power is connected to NATO slave receptacle. When released, spring-
loaded switch returns to OFF position.
OFF - Disables diesel engine 24 VDC starting circuit.
START - Selected and held, energizes 24 VDC diesel engine starting
circuit when 24 VDC power is connected to NATO slave receptacle. When
released, spring-loaded switch returns to OFF position.

ON-OFF Load
ON - Closes AC circuit to supply power to load terminals.
Circuit Breaker
OFF - Opens AC circuit to shut off power to load terminals.

NATO Slave Receptacle
Supplies power to diesel engine start and air intake heater circuits when
connected to external 24 VDC power source via a NATO power cable.

VOLTS Meter
Indicates output voltage of generator set. Normal reading for MEP-531A is
(AC MEP-531A)
120 VAC and for MEP-501A is 28 VDC.

%LOAD Meter
Indicates generator set load current as a percent of its rated current.
Normal reading is dependent on load demand from 0 to 125 percent.

HOURS Meter
Indicates total diesel engine operating hours.

VOLTAGE ADJ.
Adjusts generator set voltage from 114 V to 126 VAC (MEP-531A) or from
Potentiometer
26.6 to 32.2 VDC (MEP-501A).
