Installation.
a.
Install auxiliary fuel pump (50, FIGURE 2-21) with bolts (47), Iockwashers (48), and washers (49).
b. Install fitting (45), nut (44), cap (43), chain (42), bolt (40), and nut (41) to fuel filler panel.
c. Remove caps and install fitting (51) and auxiliary fuel outlet tube (46) to auxiliary fuel pump (50) and fitting (32).
d. Remove caps from fuel inlet hose (39). lnstall filter (52) on auxiliary fuel pump (50). Install adapter fitting (39b)
on fuel inlet hose (39) and connect adapter fitting (39b) to filler neck panel fitting (45). Connect other end of
fuel inlet hose to filter (52). Tighten clamps (39a).
e. Connect auxiliary fuel pump electrical connector and remove tag.

Install front housing panel, paragraph 2-18.4.
g.
Connect negative battery cable and dose access door.

Inspection.
Shut down generator set.
Open left side engine access door and disconnect negative battery cable.
Inspect fuel transfer pump (6, FIGURE 2-22) for leaks, cracks, missing hardware, and loose connections.
Connect negative battery cable and dose left side engine access door.
Testing.
Shut down generator set.
Open left side engine access door and disconnect fuel transfer pump outlet line (2, FIGURE 2-22) at second-
ary fuel filter. Place line end in measuring container.
Move generator set MASTER SWITCH to PRIME & RUN position for one minute and return MASTER
SWITCH to OFF position.
Measuring container should have collected at least 25 oz (0.845 liter) of fuel.
Replace fuel transfer pump if delivery amount is other than above.
Connect fuel line (9) to secondary fuel filter.
Close access door.
Removal.
Shut down generator set.
Open left side engine access door and disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove bolts (2, FIGURE 2-20), washers (3), and left side fan guard (4).
Tag and disconnect fuel transfer pump (6, FIGURE 2-22) electrical connector.
Disconnect inlet fuel hose (1) from fuel transfer pump (6). Cap hose.
Disconnect outlet fuel tube (2) from fuel transfer pump (6). Cap tube.
Remove bolts (3), Iockwashers (4), washers (5), and fuel transfer pump (6) from generator set.
Remove fittings (7) and (8) from fuel transfer pump (6).
