ADJUSTING FREQUENCY DROOP AT ENGINE GOVERNOR.a.b.c.d.e.f.g.h.i.j.NOTEFrequency droop should be checked whenever maintenance has been performed on theengine governor, or the engine assembly has been replaced. Adjust frequency droop asfollows if droop does not meet the performance characteristics listed in Table 1-2.Shut down generator set.Open left side engine access door and disconnect negative battery cable.Remove left side fan guard, paragraph 2–70–1.Remove plug (1, Figure 4-13) from engine governor housing (3).NOTEDo not turn adjustment screw more than one turn at a time.Using a 5 mm hex key, at least 5 in. long, adjust screw (2) clockwise to decrease the amount of droop.Install plug (1), connect negative battery cable and close left side engine access door.Start generator set and check frequency droop.Shut down generator set.Repeat procedures until frequency droop meets performance characteristics listed in Table 1–2.Open left side engine access door, install left fan guard, paragraph 2–70–5, and close left side engine accessdoor.4-16
