remove generator set.

Installation. Installation is reverse of removal
procedure a above. Make sure that the bevel washers
are properly positioned so that generator set is securely
mounted to the trailer body.
20-16. Generator Transfer Switch
a.
Removal (Fig. 20-6)
(1)
Disconnect the load lines and the ground
wire at the distributor box.
(2)
Disconnect the generator load lines from
the generators and loosen the cable clamps so that the
cables will be removed with the distribution box.
(3)
Remove nuts, washers, and capscrews
that secure distribution box to the trailer body and
remove box and cables as an assembly.
b.
Disassembly. Refer to figure 20-9 and
disassemble the distribution box components. Tag the
cable ends for proper reassembly.

Reassembly.
Reassembly

reverse
of
disassembly procedure b above.
d.
Installation. Installation is reverse of removal
procedure a above. Refer to figure 20-3 to assure that
electrical load cables are properly connected.
20-17. Trailer Body
a. Removal
(1)
Remove
tarpaulin
and
roof
bows
(para 20-13).
(2)
Remove rack assemblies (para 20-9).
(3)
Remove accessory box (para 20-10).
(4)
Remove fuel tank (para 20-8).
(5)
Remove platforms (para 20-12).
(6)
Remove cable reel (para 20-11).
(7)
Remove distribution box (para 20-16).
(8)
Remove generator sets (para 20-15).
(9)
Remove remaining racks and holders
(Fig. 20-8).
(10)
Disconnect and tag trailer wiring beneath
trailer bed.
(11)
Remove nuts, washers, and bolts that
secure trailer body to chassis and remove body.
b.
Installation. Using a serviceable trailer body,
reverse removal procedure a above. Apply touch-up
paint to securing hardware after complete reassembly.
Connect electrical system to prime mover and check for
proper operation of lights and signals.
