6-7. Ground Wires and Terminal Stud
a.
Removal. Remove the ground wires from the
terminal stud and generator set as shown in figure 6-3.
b.
Installation. Install the ground wires and
terminal stud as shown in figure 6-3.
6-8. Tarpaulin, Roof Bows, Racks, and Leg Prop
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove the tarpaulin from the unit.
(2)
Remove the roof bows and racks as
shown in figure 6-2.
(3)
Remove the hardware that secures the leg
prop to the rear underside of the trailer bed and remove
the leg prop.
b.
Cleaning and Inspection.
(1)
Clean tarpaulin, bows, and racks with
water and detergent. Clean leg prop with approved
cleaning solvent and dry thoroughly.
(2)
Inspect tarpaulin for tears, holes, and
broken or missing ropes and straps, and other defects.
Inspect bows, racks, and leg prop for cracks, bends,
missing pins, and other defects.
c.
Installation.
(1)
Mount leg prop to the underside of the
trailer and secure with mounting hardware.
(2)
Install racks and roof bows as shown in
figure 6-2.
(3)
Install tarpaulin and secure in desired
position.
Section IV. DIRECT SUPPORT, GENERAL SUPPORT, AND DEPOT MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
6-9. Generator Set
a.
Removal. Using figure 6-5 as a guide, perform
the following steps:
(1)
Disconnect fuel lines.
(2)
Disconnect electrical leads and cables.
(3)
Disconnect oil drain adapters.
(4)
Remove the 4 bolts that secure the
generator set to the trailer bed and remove the generator
set.
b.
Installation. Using figure 6-5 as a guide, perform
the following steps:
(1)
Secure the generator set to the trailer bed
with four bolts.
(2)
Connect the oil drain adapter.
(3)
Connect the electrical leads and cables.
(4)
Connect the fuel lines.

a.
Removal. Remove the tarpaulin, roof bows,
racks, and leg prop (para 6-8).
b.
Repair.
(1)
Patch or sew rips and tears in the
tarpaulin. Replace damaged or missing straps or ropes.
Replace a tarpaulin that is too badly damaged to be
repaired.
(2)
Weld minor cracks or breaks in the bows
and leg prop. Straighten bent bows where possible.
Replace defective or missing pins and hardware.
Replace bows, racks, or leg prop that are damaged
beyond repair.
c.
Installation. Install racks, roof bows, and leg
prop and install tarpaulin (para 6-8).
