MAINTENANCE ALLOCATION CHART
Section I. INTRODUCTION
A3-1. General
This appendix provides a summary of the maintenance operations
covered in the equipment literature for Test Set, Motor-Generator
AN/GSM-65. It authorizes levels of maintenance for specific main-
tenance functions on repairable items and components and the tools
and equipment required to perform each function. This appendix may
be used as an aid in planning maintenance operations.
A3-2. Explanation of Format
a. Group number. Group numbers correspond to the reference des-
ignation prefix assigned in accordance with MIL-STD-16. They in-
dicate the relation of listed items to the next higher assembly.
b. Component Assembly Nomenclature. This column lists the item
names of component units, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules on
which maintenance is authorized.
c. Maintenance Function. This column indicates the maintenance
level at which performance of the specific maintenance function is
authorized. Authorization to perform a function at any level also
includes authorization to perform that function at higher levels.
The digits used represent the various maintenance levels as follows:
