Removal.
Shut down generator set.
Open left side engine access door and disconnect negative battery cable.
Release control panel by turning two fasteners and lower control panel slowly.
Tag and disconnect COOLANT TEMP. indicator (18, FIGURE 2-14) electrical leads
Remove nuts (15). washers (16) and damp (17).
Remove COOLANT TEMP. indicator (18) from control panel.
Installation.
Install COOLANT TEMP. indicator (18, FIGURE 2-14) in control panel.
Install washers (16) nuts (15) and damp (17).
Connect electrical leads and remove tags.
Raise and secure control panel.
Connect negative battery cable and dose access door.
2-41 OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR.
Inspection.
Shut down generator set.
Release control panel by turning two fasteners and lower control panel slowly.
Inspect OIL PRESSURE indicator for cracked lens, loose mounting, corrosion, and other damage.
Raise and secure control panel.
Testing.
Shut down generator set.
Open left side engine access door and disconnect negative battery cable.
Release control panel by turning two fasteners and lower control panel slowly.
Isolate generator set VOLTAGE adjust potentiometer by disconnecting wire 156A at terminal 1 and wire 157B
at terminal 2 of AC voltage regulator.
Set multimeter for ohms and connect between terminals L and R of generator set VOLTAGE adjust potentiometer.
Adjust potentiometer until multimeter indicates 92.7 to 113.3 ohms resistance.
Disconnect multimeter, but do not disturb potentiometer adjustment.
Disconnect and isolate electrical lead from terminal S of OIL PRESSURE indicator.
Connect jumper wire between disconnected wire 156A and terminal S of OIL PRESSURE indicator.
Connect jumper wire between disconnected wire 157B and terminal G of OIL PRESSURE indicator.
Connect negative battery cable and move MASTER SWITCH to PRIME & RUN position.
OIL PRESSURE indicator should indicate 32 to 48 PSI.
Move MASTER SWITCH to OFF position and disconnect negative battery cable.
Repeat steps e thru g, setting potentiometer between 30.1 and 36.8 ohms.
Connect negative battery cable and move MASTER SWlTCH to PRIME & RUN position.
OIL PRESSURE indicator should indicate 72 to 80 PSI.
Move MASTER SWITCH to OFF position and disconnect negative battery cable.
