Shut down generator set.
Remove rear housing section, paragraph 2-20-1.
Remove generator mounting hardware, paragraph 3-6-1, step z.
Insert wooden wedges between rear end of engine and skid base to support engine when generator is removed.
Remove bolts (1, Figure 4-24) and end bell cover (2).
Remove nuts (3), washers (4), and end bell (5).
Tag and disconnect exciter stator leads (6) and AC voltage regulator leads (7) from terminal block (13) in end
bell (5).
Remove bolts (8), washers (9), brushless exciter stator (10), and packing (11) from end bell (5),
Remove bolts (12) and terminal board (13) from end bell (5).
Use care to avoid contact between stator (14) and rotor assembly (16).
Using lifting device attached to stator (14) lifting point, carefully pry loose (screwdriver slots provided), and re-
move stator (14) from engine/generator adapter (15).
Use rope sling to support rotor (16), refer to Figure 4-23.
