GENERATOR SET PU-625/G, NSN 6115-00-837-3915
Section I. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
22-1. Description
a.
General. The trailer mounted generator set, PU-
625/G, consists of two 3 kW, 60 hz, MEP-016C Military
Design generator sets mounted on a modified 3/4 ton, 2-
wheel cargo trailer, model M-101-A1. (Figures 22-1 and
22-2.) Brackets, racks, holders, and cable reels are
provided for transporting and installing communications
equipment. Table 22-1 lists components of the PU-
625/G generator set.
b.
Generators. Each MEP-016C 3 kW generator
set is powered by a directly coupled 4-cylinder, 6 hp,
military standard model 4A0323 gasoline engine. For
description,
operation,
and
maintenance
of
the
generators, refer to TM 5-6115-271-14. A power
transfer switch is provided for connecting the generators
to a common load.
c.

covered
in
TM
5-6115-271-14, refer to TM 5-2805-203-14.
d.
Trailer. For description and maintenance of the

22-2.1. General
a.
Maintenance Forms and Records. Every
mission begins and ends with the paperwork. There isn't
much of it, but you have to keep it up. The forms and
records you fill out have several uses; they are a
permanent
record
of
the
services,
repairs,
and
modifications made on your equipment; they are reports
to Organizational Maintenance and to your Commander;
and they are a checklist for you when you want to know
what is wrong with the equipment after its last use, and
whether those faults have been fixed. For information
you need on forms and records, see: DA Pamphlet 738-
750.

Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services.

you
operate
your
equipment. Pay attention to the CAUTIONS and
WARNINGS.

MAINTENANCE right after operating the equipment.

If something doesn't work, troubleshoot it
with the instructions in the appropriate TM and notify
your supervisor.

PREVENTIVE
MAINTENANCE in the same order until it gets to be a
habit. Once you've had some practice, you'll spot
anything wrong in a hurry.
