19-14. Trailer Bed
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove tarpaulin, roof bows, and leg prop
(para 19-10).
(2)
Remove transfer switch from the trailer
(para 19-11).
(3) Remove the generator sets (para 19-12).
(4)
Remove the 18 bolts (9 each fuel tank)
that secure the fuel tanks to the trailer and remove the
fuel tanks.
(5)
Remove 8 bolts from the top surface of
the trailer bed and 12 bolts from the underside that
secure the trailer bed gussets to the trailer.
(6)
Disconnect electrical leads from the trailer
lights.
(7)
Remove trailer bed from the trailer.
b.
Cleaning, Inspection, and Repair.
(1)
Clean trailer bed with approved cleaning
solvent and dry thoroughly.
(2)
Inspect for broken welds, bends, dents,
and any damage that prevents proper assembly of the
unit. Weld cracks and breaks and straighten dents or
bends where possible. Replace a trailer bed that is
damaged beyond repair.
c.
Installation.
(1)
Install trailer bed on the trailer and secure
with 12 bolts on the underside and 8 on the top.
Connect wiring to trailer lights.
(2)
Secure the two fuel tanks to the trailer with
18 bolts.
(3)
Install the generator sets (para 19-12).
(4) Install the transfer switch (para 19-11).
(5)
Install the leg prop, roof bows, and
tarpaulin (para 19-10).
