19-8. Transfer Switch Indicating Lights
a.
Removal. Remove the indicating lights as
illustrated in figure 19-5.
b.
Installation. Install the indicating lights as
illustrated in figure 19-5.
19-9. Ground Wires and Terminal Stud
a.
Removal. Remove the ground wires from the
ground terminal stud and generator sets as shown in
figure 19-3. Remove the terminal stud.
b.
Installation. Install the terminal stud and ground
wires as shown in figure 19-3.
19-10. Tarpaulin, Roof Bows, and Leg Prop
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove the tarpaulin from the unit.
(2)
Pull out the chain-secured pins that
secure the roof bows to the trailer bed and remove the
bows.
(3)
Remove the hardware that secures the leg
prop to the rear underside of the trailer bed and remove
the leg prop.
b.
Cleaning and Inspection.
(1)
Clean tarpaulin with water and detergent.
Clean roof bows and leg prop with approved cleaning
solvent. Dry thoroughly.
(2)
Inspect tarpaulin for tears, holes, broken
or missing straps or ropes and other defects. Inspect
bows and leg prop for breaks, cracks, damaged or
missing hardware, and any other defects.
c.
Installation.
(1)
Mount the leg prop to the underside of the
trailer bed and secure with mounting hardware.
(2)
Install the roof bows in the trailer bed and
secure with pins. Install the tarpaulin and secure in the
desired position.

19-11. Generator Transfer Switch
a.
Removal and Disassembly.
(1)
Tag and disconnect leads from the output
terminals to load.
(2)
Remove and disassemble the transfer
switch as illustrated in figure 19-5.
b.
Reassembly and Installation.
(1)
Reassemble and install the transfer switch
as illustrated in figure 19-5.
(2)
Connect load connections (fig. 19-6).
19-12. Generator Sets
a.
Removal. Use figure 19-7 as a guide and
perform the following steps:
(1)
Disconnect fuel lines.
(2)
Disconnect electrical leads and cables.
(3)
Disconnect oil drain adapters.
(4)
Remove 2 bolts and 2 nuts that secure the
front muffler pipe to trailer bed and remove pipe.
(5)
Remove the 8 bolts (4 to each set) that
secure the generator sets to the trailer bed and remove
generator sets.
b.
Installation. Use figure 19-7 as a guide and
perform the following steps:
(1)
Secure the two generator sets to the
trailer bed with 8 bolts.
(2)
Secure front muffler pipe to trailer bed with
2 bolts and 2 nuts.
(3)
Connect oil drain adapters.
(4)
Connect electrical leads and cables.
(5)
Connect fuel lines.
19-13. Tarpaulin, Roof Bows, and Leg Prop
a.
Removal. Remove the tarpaulin, roof bows, and
leg prop (para 19-10).
b.
Repair.
(1)
Patch or sew rips or tears in the tarpaulin.
Replace damaged or missing straps and ropes. Replace
a tarpaulin that is too badly damaged to be repaired.
(2)
Weld minor cracks and breaks in the roof
bows and leg prop. Straighten bows where possible.
Replace defective or missing hardware. Replace bows
or leg prop that are damaged beyond repair.
c.
Installation. Install tarpaulin, roof bows, and leg
prop (para 19-10).
