Section II. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
19-3. Setting-up Instructions
a.
Leveling.
(1)
Locate the trailer on as level a surface as
possible in order for the generator to operate efficiently.
(2)
Set brakes and block wheels securely to
prevent any movement. Operate handbrakes at weekly
intervals to assure freedom of linkage.
(3)
Pull leg support down and adjust length
for firm contact with ground.
WARNING
Wheels must be blocked, brakes set,
and leg prop down in support
position before attempting to roll up
tarpaulin and before starting to set-
up or assemble the equipment for
operation.
b.
Preparation for Starting.
(1)
Roll up tarpaulin and remove splash shield
as shown in figure 19-3.
(2)
Remove all loose auxiliary items and
anything else that might block the free circulation of air
through the trailer and around the generator sets.
CAUTION
It is of foremost importance that
there be free circulation of air around
the generator sets at all times during
operation. Inadequate ventilation is a
major cause of damage to the
equipment.
(3)
Be sure transfer switch load cables are
connected to the generator sets as illustrated in
figure 19-2.
