GENERATOR SETS PU-236/G AND PU-236A/G
Section I. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
8-1. Description
a.
General. A 5-kw, 60-cycle, gasoline engine
driven generator, mounted on a two-wheeled, box type,
steel body, 11/2-ton capacity, model M105-A-2, M105-E-
3, or Model M105-A-1 cargo trailer, comprise Generator
Sets PU-236/G and PU-236A/G.
b.
Function. The PU-236/G and PU-236A/G
provide a trailer-mounted source of 5-kw, 120/240-volt,
60-cycle, single-phase ac power for various radio sets.
c.
Difference in Models. The PU-236/G uses a
PU-58/G generator (O'Keefe and Merritt, Number 1000-
36), driven by a Willys Overland model MB-441 engine.
The PU-236A/G uses either a Kurtz and Root generator,
model XP536, or a Master Vibrator generator model
EG144.
d.

on sets using Aerojet General Corporation model
305665 engine refer to applicable technical manual, as
shown on nameplate or in DA Pam 310-4. Applicable
technical manuals, as shown on nameplate or in DA
Pam 310-4, describe and provide instructions for sets
equipped with Continental Engine model NS56.

Power U nit. For description and additional
information on PU-58/G refer to applicable technical
manual, as shown on generator set nameplate or in DA
Pam 310-4.
g.
Trailer. For description and further trailer
information refer to applicable technical manual, as
shown on trailer nameplate or in DA Pam 310-4.
h.
Lubrication. Lubricate the trailer as prescribed
in applicable lubrication order, as shown in DA Pam 310-
4. Lubrication order, as shown in DA Pam 310-4.
contains instructions for lubrication of the Hol-Gar model
CE-52M-AC Generator Set. Lubricate Master Vibrator
model EG-144 generator set in accordance with
instructions outlined in applicable lubrication order, as
shown in DA Pam 310-4. Lubricate Aerojet General
Corporation model 305665 engine as directed by
applicable lubrication order, as shown in DA Pam 310-4.
Refer to applicable technical manual, as shown in DA
Pam 310-4, and figure 16 for lubricating instructions for
the PU-58/G power unit.
