Remove nut (10), lock washer (9), flat washer (8) from bolt (7). Then, remove bolt (7).
6.
Remove fuel pump (2) from clamp (13).
REPLACEMENT
1.
Perform steps 1 thru 6 and reverse order of removal.
2.
Perform steps 1 thru 5 of installation, substituting new fuel pump for the defective one.
INSTALLATION
1.
Secure new fuel pump (2) using clamp (13). Secure clamp (13) with bolt (7), flat washer (8), lock washer (9), and
nut (10).
2.
Referencing top of Figure 4-22, install butt splice (5) and fuel line (6) on output end of fuel pump (1). Secure with
screw clamp (3).
3.
Referencing bottom of Figure 4-22, install fuel line (6) and butt splice (4) on output end of fuel pump (2). Secure
with screw clamp (3).
4.
Plug in electrical leads (12) at connector (11) on fuel pump (2).
5.
Reconnect negative battery cable.
