SYMPTOM
14.
Generator is Overheating.
MALFUNCTION
Excessive Generator Load.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
STEP 1.
Set Battery Disconnect Switch to ON. Set DEAD CRANK SWITCH to NORMAL.
On EMCP set ENGINE CONTROL switch to MANUAL START.
STEP 2.
Check ventilation screens. Unclog screens, as required.
STEP 3.
Check ambient temperature. Improve ventilation, or reduce load.
STEP 4.
Check temperature of air at intake. Improve ventilation, or reduce load.
STEP 5.
Check current in each leg of output.
a.
If not less than rated current, reduce load.
b.
Add a generator set in parallel.
c.
If load is unbalanced, reconfigure load to improve balance from leg to
leg.
STEP 6.
Verify the problem has been resolved.
