WARNING
Before performing any maintenance that
requires climbing on or under trailer set
handbrakes and, chock wheels. Injury to
personnel could result from trailer
suddenly rolling.
Generator sets must be shut down
before performing PMCS on electrical
cables. Failure to do so could result In
death or serious injury.

Generator Set Exterior
Inspect generator set for fuel and oil leaks,
loose or missing components and
hardware, and unusual wear or
deterioration.

Fuel Strainer and Filters
NOTE
Fuel system must be above freezing
temperature when draining water and
sediment from strainer, filters, and tank.
Open drains on fuel strainer, and primary
and secondary fuel filters. Drain water
and sediment into a suitable container.
Allow to drain until fuel runs clean.

Fuel Tanks
Open drains on main fuel tank and day
tank. Drain water and sediment into a
suitable container. Allow to drain until fuel
runs clean.

Fuel Pumps
Clean or replace, as necessary, fuel
strainer in bottom of fuel pump.

Batteries
Perform a hydrometer test on batteries
every 100 hours. Refer to TM 5-6115-
465-
12 for test procedures.
