Section IV. ORGANIZATIONAL MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
4-9. Transfer Switch Indicating Lights
a.
Removal. Remove the indicating lights as
illustrated in figure 4-6.
b.
Installation. Install the indicating lights as
illustrated in figure 4-6.
4-10. Ground Wires, and Terminal Stud
a.
Removal. Remove the ground wires from the
ground terminal stud and generator sets as shown in
figure 4-4. Remove the terminal stud.
b.
Installation. Install the ground wires, and
terminal stud as shown in figure 4-4.
4-11. Tarpaulin, Roof Bows, and Leg Prop
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove the tarpaulin from the unit.
(2)
Pull out the chain-secured pins that
secure the roof bows to the trailer bed and re- move the
bows.
(3)
Remove the hardware that secures the leg
prop to the rear underside of the trailer bed and remove
the leg prop.
b.
Cleaning and Inspection.
(1)
Clean tarpaulin and roof bows with water
and detergent. Clean leg prop with approved cleaning
solvent. Dry thoroughly.
(2)
Inspect tarpaulin for tears, holes, broken
or missing ropes or straps and other defects. Inspect
bows and leg prop for cracks, bends, and any other
defects.
c.
Installation.
(1)
Mount the leg prop to the underside of the
trailer bed and secure with mounting hardware.
(2)
Install the roof bows in the trailer bed and
secure with pins. Install the tarpaulin and secure in the
desired position.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
4-12. Generator Transfer Switch
a.
Removal and Disassembly.
(1)
Tag and disconnect leads from the output
terminals to load.
(2)
Remove and disassemble the transfer
switch as illustrated in figure 4-6.
b.
Reassembly and Installation.
(1)
Reassemble and install the transfer switch
as illustrated in figure 4-6.
(2)
Connect load connections. (Refer to
figure 4-7).
4-13. Generator Sets
a.
Removal. Use figure 4-8 as a guide and
perform the following steps:
(1)
Disconnect fuel lines.
(2)
Disconnect electrical leads and cables.
(3)
Disconnect oil drain adapters.
(4)
Remove 2 bolts and 2 nuts that secure the
front muffler pipe to the trailer and remove pipe.
(5)
Remove the 8 bolts (4 to each set) that
secure the generator sets to the trailer and remove the
generator sets.
b.
Installation. Using figure 4-8 as a guide, perform
the following steps:
(1)
Secure the two generator sets to the
trailer bed with 8 bolts.
(2)
Secure front muffler pipe to trailer bed with
2 bolts and 2 screws.
