GENERATOR SET PU-618/M AND PU-620/M
Section I. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
4-1. Description
a.
General. The trailer mounted generator sets,
PU-618/M and PU-620/M, consist of two 5 kW, Model SF
5.0 Military Design generator sets mounted on a modified
1-1/2 ton, 2-wheel cargo trailer, Model 103A3 (PU-618/M),
or modified 3/4 ton, 2-wheel cargo trailer, Model M 116A 1
(PU-620/M), (refer to figures 4-1 and 4-2).
b.
Generators. Each generator is powered by a
directly coupled, 2 cylinder, 10 hp, Military Standard
Model 2A042 engine. For description and generator
operation and maintenance, refer to TM 5-6115-332-14.
A power transfer switch is provided for connecting the
generators to a common load. Table 4-1 lists the
components of the PU-618/M and PU-6201M generator
sets.
c.
Engines. For description and engine maintenance
information not covered in this chapter, refer to
TM 5-2805-258-14.
d.
Trailers. For description and maintenance of the
trailer for PU-618/M, refer to TM 9-2330-213-14. For
PU-620/M trailer, refer to TM 9-2330-202-14.
e.
Lubrication. For lubrication instructions refer to
TM 5-6115-332-14. For lubrication instructions for the
engines refer to TM 5-2805-258-14 and LO 52805-258-
12. The trailer lubrication information is contained in
LO 9-2330-21312 (PU-618/M) and LO 9-2330-202-12
(PU-620/M).
