GENERATOR SET PU-495/G
Section I. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
10-1. Description
a.
General. A 100-kw, 3-phase, 4-wire, 120/2082-
40/416-volt, 60-cycle, generator reconnectable for 83.3-
kw, 50-cycle operation, powered by and directly coupled
to a 6-cylinder, 2 or 4-cycle, liquid-cooled diesel engine,
with a governed speed of 1800 rpm at 60 cycle and 1500
rpm at 50 cycle; mounted on a M-353 trailer comprise
the Generator Set PU-495/G.
b.
Function. The PU-495/G Generator Set is a
mobile power source which supplies 50 to 60-cycle, 100-
kw power with less than 1 percent voltage and frequency
regulation.
c.

Diesel model 4180 generator sets and/or General
Electric Company model 58J4445Y2Y10 generators,
further information is available in applicable technical
manual, as shown on nameplate or in DA Pam 310-4.

Trailer. For description and further information
about the M-353 trailer, refer to applicable technical
manual, as shown on trailer nameplate or in DA Pam
310-4.
f.
Lubrication. Lubricate Detroit Diesel generator
sets, models 6910 and 6910A, as directed by applicable
lubrication order, as shown in DA Pam 310-4.
Applicable lubrication orders, as shown in DA Pam 310-
4, contain lubricating instructions for Consolidated Diesel
models 4115 and 4180 generator sets. Lubricate the M-
353 trailer as outlined in applicable lubrication order, as
shown in DA Pam 310-4.
