GENERATOR SETS PU-406/M and PU-402/M
Section I. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
5-1. Description
a.
General. A 30-kw, 60-cycle, diesel engine
driven generator, capable of supplying 25-kw, 50 cycle
power, mounted on an M-200A1 trailer (modified),
comprise a self-contained mobile unit referred to as
Trailer-Mounted Generator Set, PU-406/M. Refer to
figures 5-1 and 5-2. A 15-kw, ,60 cycle, diesel engine-
driven generator, capable of supplying 12.5-kw, 50-cycle
power, mounted on a M-200A1 trailer, comprise a self-
contained mobile unit referred to as Trailer-Mounted
Generator Set, PU-402/M.
b.
Function. PU-406/M is a mobile power plant
and may be used to supply power to any system
requiring a 30-kw, 60-cycle current PU-402/M is a mobile
power source capable of furnishing 15-kw, 60-cycle
current.
Note. The only difference between the PU-
406/M and PU-402/M generator sets is in the output.
The sets are similar to each other in appearance.

chapter, refer to TM 5-6115-321-15. For PU-402/M,
refer to applicable TM for generator set used. (See DA
PAM 310-4).

Lubrication. Refer to LO 9-2330-205-14 for
lubrication information required on the M-200A1 trailer.
