Use clean, low pressure air, 30 psi maximum. Wear protective glasses when using com-
pressed air. Failure to follow these instructions could result in eye injury.
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Skin/eye
protection required. Avoid repeated/prolonged contact. Good general ventilation is nor-
e. Clean dirt particles from radiator core air passages using filtered, compressed air.
Clean exterior surface of radiator with dry cleaning solvent (Item 20, Appendix C).
Install radiator, paragraph 2-82-4.
Repair radiator by straightening bent radiator fins and soldering minor leaks.
Install drain valve (28, FIGURE 2-23) in radiator (31).
Position radiator (31 ) on radiator mount, and install nuts (29) and Iockwashers (30).
Install shroud (17) on radiator (31) with bolts (14), Iockwashers (15), and flatwashers (16).
Connect radiator drain hose (27) on radiator drain valve (28) with clamp (26).
Connect support rods (22) to radiator (31) with spacers (25), Iockwashers (24) and bolts (23).
Attach support rods (22) to bracket on engine with bolts (20), washers (21), Iockwashers(19), and nuts (1 8).
Install lower coolant hose, paragraph 2-80-3.
Install upper coolant hose, paragraph 2-79-3.
Install radiator filler hose and panel assembly, paragraph 2-77-3.
Install fan guards, paragraph 2-78-3.
Install generator set top housing section, paragraph 2-16-4.
Ensure radiator drain valve (28) is closed and add coolant/antifreeze, to proper level, paragraph 2-1-2-2.
Install radiator cap (1).
Start generator set. Allow unit to reach operating temperature and check for leakage.
Add coolant to overflow bottle as required.
Close engine access doors.
GENERATOR SET COOLING
Shut down generator set.
